The Bachelor of Science in Addiction Counseling is designed to train practitioners in the field of addiction counseling and substance abuse treatment. The program includes courses designed to provide students with knowledge of the field through focusing on the development of counseling skills specific to the needs of chemically dependent clientele as identified by appropriate agencies. Students/applicants are responsible for contacting their state counseling certification agency for certification requirements and program approval. Admission Requirements:In addition to the standard Bachelor of Science requirements for general admission, this program is a degree completion program that will require all students to do one of the following: transfer a completed Associate of Applied Science in Chemical Dependency Counseling and requisite bridge courses, transfer a completed Associates degree and requisite bridge courses, or transfer up to 84 credits. During this program students may be required to complete general education courses in addition to their core education courses for the purpose of completing the Bachelor of Science degree.
